About American 8:
Goal of the game:
The American 8 is played with cards.
The goal is like Uno to get rid of all his cards.
Many different variants and rules exist. Here is the rule we practice.
This game requires at least 2 players. The maximum number of players is 8. A second deck of 52 cards is used if the number of players is more than 5.
You need to be logged for playing.
- each player will receive 8 cards,
- the sense of the game is clockwise.
- the starting player to play is chosen at random
To play, this is easy:
The player can cover the card of the draw either by a card of the same suit, the same value or play a special card.
In case the player can not play, he must draw a card from the deck. You can only draw once per turn.
If it is playable, he can put it, otherwise, he passes his turn by keeping the card in his game.
If at first you don't know how to play or if you are absent, the game will play for you by taking the first possible solution.
But be careful, this must remain casual. If the game plays for you too frequently, you may be prohibited from playing.
When this is your turn to play, the game leaves you 10 seconds to choose a card (5 seconds if impossible to play).
To choose a card, simply click on it (1).
Otherwise, once the time is up, the game will play the first possible solution for you.
For the 8 card, you must choose the suit you want before playing your 8. (2).
The first player to get rid of all his cards, wins.
The winner will earn:
(*) Only if you were present at least 50% in the game.
- the amount of the tickets, minus 3%
- 4 games (weekly counter)(*)
- A percentage of the current pot, according to the number of players (max 1%) (*)
- If 8 players played, a percentage of the landmine pot (landmines lost during ChickenIsland games) (*)
The 8 can be put at any time, except when ace is asked.
You can ask for the suit you want (spades, hearts, clubs, diamonds).
Select the suit, on the right of the screen, before placing the card.
The next player will have to put a card of the required suit (or a 8).
The ace (A) allows attacks.
The next player will have to deposit an ace.
Each ace (A) posed constitutes a series.
If the player can not play, he will have to draw (+2 cards * series) cards and pass his turn.
Once a player has had to draw, the attack and the series is over, the card is played normally.
If the first card of the deck at the start is an ace, this card has no effect.
The jack (J) allows to change the sens of the game. If only 2 players, this card has no effect.
The 10 allows you to replay.
The 7 allows you to pass the next player's turn.
If only 2 players, this card is like a 10.
You are ranking according to the number of players and only if you were present in the game (ie >50% organic actions)
Examples: If there were 8 players and you won, you got +7 .
If there were 2 players and you won, you got +1 .
The counting of points:
The counting of points is used during competions.
But here, the counting of points is only to calculate the average number of points of a player, for the top of the players.
At the end of the game, for the cards remaining in the hands of each player, the points are counted as follows:
- 8: 32 points
- A: 20 points
- K: 10 points
- Q: 10 points
- J: 10 points
- Other: the ordinal value of the card (ie 7=7points, etc)
Fewer points, the better.
